ChatGPT Ads rolls out oCPC campaigns, AAM and product carousels
OpenAI is expanding ChatGPT Ads’ conversion capabilities with new campaign types, broader measurement integrations and enhanced optimization tools, while preparing to launch the platform in two new markets.
The latest updates are aimed at helping advertisers improve conversion tracking, automate campaign creation and scale ecommerce advertising.
What’s happening. OpenAI has rolled out several new features centered on conversion optimization.
Product feed campaigns now support conversion-optimized cost-per-click (oCPC) campaigns in beta, allowing advertisers to optimize toward conversions while continuing to pay per click. Advertisers can also clone existing CPC campaigns into oCPC campaigns or create them in bulk, simplifying campaign migration.
The platform is also introducing dynamic URL parameters, enabling advertisers to automatically append campaign, ad group and ad IDs to landing page URLs for easier attribution and analytics.
Measurement gets a boost. OpenAI continues to expand its measurement ecosystem with new integrations.
Advertisers can now connect Triple Whale to measure ChatGPT Ads performance alongside other marketing channels, while Sonar Optimize can send stronger conversion signals back to OpenAI. Hightouch now supports sending conversion events directly into ChatGPT Ads for measurement and optimization.
Ads Manager has also gained more detailed Pixel validation diagnostics, helping advertisers identify why conversion events were rejected and providing recommendations for fixing implementation issues.
Meanwhile, Automatic Advanced Matching (AAM) will become the default for all new web pixels immediately and will automatically be enabled for existing pixels on August 17, unless advertisers choose to opt out beforehand.
New markets and ad formats. OpenAI says ChatGPT Ads will launch in Brazil and Mexico in the coming week, expanding advertiser access in Latin America.
The company has also begun testing a multi-product carousel format for product feed campaigns, allowing multiple products to appear within a single ad unit.
